He became a Muslim and stepped onto the Sufi path at the same time, back in 1973, at the hands of his shaykh, Dr. M. Qadeer Baig. Dr. Whitehouse is a published author who has spent more than 40 years exploring, researching, reflecting on, writing about, and speaking on, various aspects (psychological, abusive, educational, methodological, and experiential) associated with the spiritual quest that is pursued by one's innate holy longing for spiritual health.    Dr. Bill Whitehouse was born in Denver, Colorado, but grew up in various parts of Maine.
 
   He graduated with honors from Harvard University, and, then, by the Grace of God, successfully completed a Ph.D. program in Educational Theory at the University of Toronto. Dr. Bill (Anab) became a Muslim and stepped onto the Sufi path at the same time, back in 1973, at the hands of his shaykh, Dr. M. Qadeer Baig.

   Dr. Whitehouse is a published author who has spent more than 40 years exploring, researching, reflecting on, writing about, and speaking on, various aspects (psychological, abusive, educational, methodological, and experiential) associated with the spiritual quest that is pursued by one's innate holy longing for spiritual health.  Currently, through his web site he offers counseling, educational, and consultant services that nurture spiritual health in those seeking self-realization or fulfillment of their holy longing. Dr. Whitehouse is currently living in the Bangor region of Maine, where, among other things, he is writing, doing research, running several web sites, and attempting to start a small - and, God willing, a wildly successful - publishing company.
